E-Governance Enabler isn't
just about putting services online; it involves
a fundamental change in the way public services
are delivered and managed. Already some
citizens take existing E-Governance Enabler services
for granted, without being aware of the
advanced information technologies supporting
something that seems so simple, logical,
and useful.
DPS E-Governance Enabler is available for
government organizations at all levels—urban,
state, and federal. It can be applied to
such diverse services and agencies as urban
planning, city councils, social services
administration, infrastructure management,
economic development, and finance.
Each installation of DPS E-Governance Enabler
is unique, based on an analysis similar
to constructing a business model for data
warehousing or e-commerce. DPS has created
a Smart City / E-Governance Enabler Reference Model
to manage this process. The model creates
a context for understanding otherwise disparate
technologies; encourages the adoption of
existing solutions wherever possible; supports
scalability; and provides for benchmarking
and metrics.
